Italy - 12-Dec

The Italian Post has advised they had problems with the processing of Signed and Tracked items over the last few days, but it has now been resolved. However, there is a backlog of items that may take a few days to clear.

Iceland - 24-Dec

Icelandic Post has advised that access to the north and east of the country is still difficult due to heavy snow. The build-up of mail being held in the UK has now cleared, but delays may still occur until after the Christmas holidays.

Nicaragua - 22-Nov

Due to operational difficulties, the airline has temporary suspended the uplift of mail to Nicaragua but hope to resume soon. Mail and parcels will be held until resumption of services. As result, delivery delays can be expected.

Slovakia - 20-Dec

Slovakia Post are performing an IT system maintenance from 4-6 January, 2020. All postal operations will be closed between those dates, resulting in some delays.

Australia - 12-Nov

New South Wales in Australia has been affected by bushfires. Severe conditions impact the deliveries in various regions.

Canada - 23-Dec

Arbitrator in Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) negotiations granted a 6-months extension to deliver two new collective agreements between Canada Post and CUPW.

The two parties have been in arbitration since January 2019 to address postal workers’ key concerns. These include a spike in injuries, forced overtime, two-tier wages, and precarious employment.

However, there can be no legal work disruption during the process, which means all mail operations will continue business as usual for the foreseeable future.

European Services - 17-Dec

The national strike in France has been extended with no end-date known at this time. As a result, delivery delays to mail for France and other European destinations transiting through France will continue

South Sudan - 18-Jul

The suppliers have temporary stopped accepting mail to South Sudan. Mail will be held until this matter is resolved, hence delays are to be expected

Haiti - 20-Aug

Due to a carrier embargo, mail delivery to Haiti has been temporarily suspended. New volumes are currently buffered at Amsterdam Airport and will be shipped when a new route is found.

Restricted Service Updates


25-Apr 2019: The U.S. Postal Service has restored mail service to Guatemala. This ends a temporary suspension of most mail services to the country that had been in effect.

5-Mar 2019: Guatemalan Post has advised they are resuming acceptance and processing of inbound letters and packages.

20-Feb 2018:  Correos y Telégrafos is in its final phase to hire additional staff to help clear an ongoing backlog. As a result, international letter-post, parcel-post and EMS services (inbound/outbound) will continue to be disrupted for at least another 4 months. Correos y Telégrafos has asked the designated operators of other countries to hold back any mail destined for Guatemala until further notice.

11-Apr 2017:  The USPS has temporarily suspended mail services to Guatemala until further notice. This will impact the following USPS services; PMEI, PMI, FCMI, FCPIS, IPA, and ISAL. For already deposited items, USPS will endorse them “Mail Service Suspended – Return to Sender” and then place them in the mail stream for return.


2-Nov 2017: Due to political developments in northern Iraq, the government has issued an embargo on flights into the region. It is expected that no deliveries will be possible until the situation is resolved.

UAE, Bahrain

6-Jun 2017: According to reports, in accordance with the declaration issued by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are cutting ties with Qatar, the provision of postal services with that member country has, until further notice, been suspended.


Due to civil unrest in Libya, all mail services have been suspended until further notice.


Due to the current exceptional transportation circumstances in the Syrian Arab Republic, all mail and parcel deliveries have been suspended until further notice.


Due to current situations in the Yemen region, all mail services have been suspended until further notice.


The Ukrainian post office, Ukrposhta, has suspended all mail services to Crimea (postcodes 95000-98999), Sevastopol (postcodes 99000-99999), Donetsk and Luhansk Oblast regions until further notice.


Due to the unstable general safety in Somalia, there are no mail services available.
