European Services - 11-Apr
After a brief suspension, French Customs officials have today resumed the extended security checks and strike action at Calais Port and Euro Tunnel, resulting in extended waiting periods. Delays of 24-48 hours can be expected.
Countries affected: France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Finland - 30-Oct
The Finnish Post and Logistics Union has announced a two-week strike in November, starting November 11th until the 24th, unless negotiations result in a solution before then. Delays to mail services can be expected during and immediately after the strike if it goes ahead.
Poland - 30-Oct
Poland Post has stated that due to the implementation of the new version of their IPS, there will be no exchange of messages for both inbound and outbound mail from 1 November to 3 November.
Malaysia - 20-Oct
Malaysian Post announced they have been experiencing IT service disruptions since Sunday 20 October 2019. As result, the processing and delivery of all inbound and outbound international mail will be delayed.
Chile - 22-Oct
Due to an ongoing strike by custom officials in Chile, no packages are being cleared through customs. This is expected to last until October 25, but further delays are possible due to protests throughout the country.
Update: Though the strike has ended and packages are clearing customs, they are being held in a secure airport facility as violent protests are ongoing throughout the country.
Lebanon - 22-Oct
Lebanon’s Post reports that ongoing protests and demonstrations in various Lebanese cities have caused roads to be blocked, disrupting collection and delivery of mail.
South Sudan - 18-Jul
The suppliers have temporary stopped accepting mail to South Sudan. Mail will be held until this matter is resolved, hence delays are to be expected
Haiti - 20-Aug
Due to a carrier embargo, mail delivery to Haiti has been temporarily suspended. New volumes are currently buffered at Amsterdam Airport and will be shipped when a new route is found.
25-Apr 2019: The U.S. Postal Service has restored mail service to Guatemala. This ends a temporary suspension of most mail services to the country that had been in effect.
5-Mar 2019: Guatemalan Post has advised they are resuming acceptance and processing of inbound letters and packages.
20-Feb 2018: Correos y Telégrafos is in its final phase to hire additional staff to help clear an ongoing backlog. As a result, international letter-post, parcel-post and EMS services (inbound/outbound) will continue to be disrupted for at least another 4 months. Correos y Telégrafos has asked the designated operators of other countries to hold back any mail destined for Guatemala until further notice.
11-Apr 2017: The USPS has temporarily suspended mail services to Guatemala until further notice. This will impact the following USPS services; PMEI, PMI, FCMI, FCPIS, IPA, and ISAL. For already deposited items, USPS will endorse them “Mail Service Suspended – Return to Sender” and then place them in the mail stream for return.
2-Nov 2017: Due to political developments in northern Iraq, the government has issued an embargo on flights into the region. It is expected that no deliveries will be possible until the situation is resolved.
6-Jun 2017: According to reports, in accordance with the declaration issued by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are cutting ties with Qatar, the provision of postal services with that member country has, until further notice, been suspended.
Due to civil unrest in Libya, all mail services have been suspended until further notice.
Due to the current exceptional transportation circumstances in the Syrian Arab Republic, all mail and parcel deliveries have been suspended until further notice.
Due to current situations in the Yemen region, all mail services have been suspended until further notice.
The Ukrainian post office, Ukrposhta, has suspended all mail services to Crimea (postcodes 95000-98999), Sevastopol (postcodes 99000-99999), Donetsk and Luhansk Oblast regions until further notice.
Due to the unstable general safety in Somalia, there are no mail services available.
